So weird….

So.. I’m gonna try blogging on this website. Why not, right?

Lately i’ve been looking for a part-time job, and i’ve been making all these calls lately to all sorts of places, and getting calls, and stuff. Y’know, the life of a person looking for a job. Obvious.

But when i got to check my voice mail today, and one of the messages started with the person stating his name and that he works for a nearby law office,  i didn’t know that the end of this message would be something completely different than what i had expected.

Actually, he wasn’t looking for an employee, he was calling to let me know i have a court hearing in a couple of months, and i am required by law to arrive there and testify in a court-case.  In front of a judge. And everything.

I was shocked. It was weird, to say the least.

The strangest thing was that he said it’s about an accident i had 3 years ago, when i was still underage and relatively new at driving.

The accident was something kinda freaky, to say the least…

I was 17 years old, and I was driving my sisters car (which was kinda crappy, to say the least)- it was night, i was making a turn after waiting on a traffic light- but the road was soaking wet from the sprinklers that were watering the plants on the traffic island, so the car (the crappy car with no ABS system) started spinning in circles and i lost control. I tried braking but it made it even worse.

Then a cab came to the road, and my car just kinda hit it.. it wasn’t a high-impact hit, because by then the car got pretty slow as i was pressing so hard on the brakes.

It hit the taxi on the right, on the back bumper. Nothing way serious. Nothing i wouldn’t take responsibility for. But then, as i was kinda shocked still and my car finally stopped moving, i saw the weirdest thing happening in front of me:

About 10 seconds after i hit the cab- the driver probably got scared and just pressed the gas pedal really hard, and i watched shocked and helpless as she (yes.) smashed her taxi into a bus station, and the entire station collapsed and smashed into pieces.

I ran out of the car and left it in the middle of the road to see if something has happened to her… She wasn’t hurt. But she was LIVID.

She thought i smashed my car into her so hard that i caused this. What i know i saw and a few other witnesses saw was something completely different.

It was horrible. Nothing happened to her. You could see the little dent on the back bumper, and you could see it had nothing to do with whatever happened to her. 

I hit her on the right, whilst she drove off to the left and smashed her car.

She called the police, who calmed her (and me, i was crying and upset) down and told me that she’s just crazy, and it’s ok.

I was so upset.

She was too.

She wanted me to pay for everything. She started making stuff up. When i went into my car to move it to the side of the road to avoid getting into something way more serious, she started screaming: “don’t let her get in that car!!!! it’s a hit and run!!!!!” like a crazy person. i didn’t know what to do with myself.

When I came home i told everything to my parents, and they told me not to answer her calls or anything (the cops gave her my phone number as she was frantic and just HAD to get it)- it’s between her and the insurance company.

I wrote a deposition to the insurance company and to me - that was it. 

I’ve been told i have nothing to do with it anymore.

But today, after I told my mom about the call from the lawyer (who claimed they’re “representing me through the insurance company” or something complicated like that), she called them and found out that yes, this is serious, they’re getting sued by her, which is normal for every accident, but i need to testify in front of a judge, and i need to attend a court hearing in a couple of months.

This is just crazy.

I mean, ok, i’ll do it, but i mean.. It’s so weird. This happened 3 years ago, and no one got hurt. Nothing really happened. It’s so weird how complicated it got. So weird. I feel like i’m in a tv show or something, it’s so weird.

I dunno, it’s kinda unexpected, don’t you think?
